Review terms before translating with Deep mode

Deep adds one step to Auto: the step where you review the terms. Nothing is translated until you continue.
If the status reads Ready to review terms: check the rows that need attention, edit the target term where it needs changing, then select Continue translating. You do not have to edit the whole list.
Use Deep when terminology matters more than turnaround — for example, when a document in the same patent family must stay consistent with an earlier filing, when the subject area is unfamiliar, or when the client requires a fixed glossary.
Deep requires a plan that includes term review. On plans without it the Deep button stays disabled and shows Upgrade to Basic+ to use Deep mode.
Reviewing terms costs no extra Standard Words — a Deep run is charged the same as an Auto run for the same document. What it gives you is the chance to settle the terminology before the full translation begins, which reduces repeated corrections in the finished document.
Start a run in Deep
Set the project up as in Translate your first document; at the mode step, choose Deep. Then select Start translating.
Processing runs through Analyze, and when the terms are ready the status line reads Ready to review terms.
Read the term list
Terms are grouped into three sections:

Check these two columns first:
- Field — the subject area the term came from. When it differs from the document’s field, Pattrans marks the row and warns: … term — different from the document field (…). Check the translation for the right context. A banner also counts them: … terms from a different field — review carefully.
- Confidence — how sure Pattrans is about the target term.
Start with the cross-field marks and the low-confidence rows. Then review terms repeated in the claims, terms defined within the document itself, and terms that must stay consistent with earlier filings in the same patent family.
Which terms are used, and which are saved
Every term in the list is applied consistently across the translation, so you do not have to handle each row.
These are two separate things, independent of each other:

Edit a term
You can only edit the target term; the source side cannot be changed.
For New terms and My Termbase: edit the target term directly in its row.
For System dictionary, rows are read-only by default. You can choose edit, and your edit is then saved straight to My Termbase and used in place of the system term — in this run and in your own later runs. This edit does not change the system dictionary for other users.
What saving to your termbase requires
- Use My Termbase must be enabled. If it is off, the select-all control reads Enable “Use My Termbase” to save terms, and a system-dictionary row reads Enable My Termbase to save your edit.
- Your termbase must have room. When it is full you see Termbase is full, and Term limit exceeded — you can only update existing terms, not add new ones. Existing terms can still be corrected.
Continue
Select Continue translating. The status line reads Resuming translation after the term review…, and the run finishes exactly as an Auto run does — see Translate your first document for the Complete stage and the files it produces.
